Hello and welcome to MIDAS tutorials

Now one of the great things about MIDAS is just how flexible and versatile it can be for different types of organizations and businesses.

So in this tutorial, I'm going to show you how you can configure MIDAS for hotels, bed and breakfasts, and other overnight accommodation businesses.

Now you'll see here on the Add Bookings screen normally the time selector is a "Start" and a "Finish" time.

But if you're running an overnight accommodation business, you just want to book by the number of nights, and you'll have set check-in and check-out times.

So we can change the time selector for a "Number of nights" selector instead.

To do this we go to MIDAS Admin Options and we select "Manage Midas" from the drop-down list.

On the booking fields tab, we locate the "Times" field and we click the little edit icon, and then "Edit Time Lists".

So this is where we set up our default check-in and check-out times.

At the moment is set to 3:00 p.m. check-in time and 11:00 a.m. check-out time

and we can also limit the maximum number of nights stay that we allow.

So we'll save changes to that.

So now that we've configured our check-in and check-out times, we then need to change the time selector - which is done on a per-user basis.

So this means you can have different times selectors for different users.

So we'll go back to the drop-down and this time we select "Manage Users & Permissions".

We select the user we are interested in which case we are currently pre-selected here, and we scroll right down and at the bottom you can see there's a "Time Selector" option which is currently set to "Times" - that's our standard start and finish time selectors.

If we change that to "Nights" and then save changes to this user accounts, on the Add Booking screen now you'll see the start and finish times have now changed to a number of nights stay, up to our maximum of seven nights that we defined.

So if we want to book a two night stay we select "2 Nights", the name of the client and the room - let's put them in Room 1 - and you'll see our check-in / check-out dates are there; number of nights - 2.

It's available so we'll "Book All Available" and you'll see - if I increase the size of the booking grid - there's our booking for two nights stay from a Tuesday - Thursday.

Thanks for watching and be sure to check out some of our other video tutorials online, where I'll show you further ways you can customize the time selector in MIDAS.
