A new version is shown on the website, but no updates are available?

We release significant updates to our MIDAS room booking system several times a year. Each significant update contains a host of new and improved features.

Every time a new update is released, we update the changelog (release notes) on our website accordingly.

Customers running self hosted editions of MIDAS may check for and obtain software updates from within the software at any time. This may be done via MIDAS Admin Options → Manage MIDAS → Update. For our cloud hosted customers, this option is not available, as we manage the update process for you.

If our website indicates that a newer version of MIDAS is available to the one you're currently, yet when you check for updates from within the software there appears to be no update available, there are a number of possible reasons for this. These include:

  1. The update has not yet been enabled for your MIDAS system

When we release new versions to our software, we generally release these to our cloud hosted customers in the first instance. It may be a week or so later before the update is made available to our self hosted customers. The reason for this "staggered" release approach is primarily to ensure the stability of each new release. We can generally identify and troubleshoot any potential issues that may arise in a new update on our cloud hosted infrastructure far quicker than we could for self hosted MIDAS systems.

  2. You are no longer receiving software updates

Software updates to newer versions are only available with an active MIDAS subscription. If your subscription has expired and not been renewed, you will not be able to update to the latest version of MIDAS. To check your subscription status or to renew at any time, please go to https://mid.as/renew.

  3. You are running a customized version of MIDAS

On occasion, we develop custom bespoke editions of MIDAS for clients. Updates to these customized editions are typically delayed by a number of weeks from a general update release. This is because our development team won't begin work on integrating the new update into a customer's bespoke system until the update has been out for a number of weeks and any issues identified following release resolved. If you run a custom/bespoke edition of MIDAS and no update is currently available to you despite a newer release being indicated on our website, please check again for updates in a couple of weeks time.
