How to fix a "There was a problem connecting to the specified SMTP server" errorThis error indicates that the SMTP server settings that have been specified within the your MIDAS booking system are incorrect, or that your SMTP server is rejecting external connections to it, and therefore your MIDAS system is unable to connect to your SMTP server to deliver outgoing email from the software.
You can check and correct your mail transport settings within the software via MIDAS Admin Options → Manage MIDAS → email → Send Outgoing Emails Using.
For guidance, please refer to the Manage Email Settings page of the online documentation.
Once you have entered the correct SMTP settings for your server, this error should be resolved. If not, it is then likely to be a firewall issue with your SMTP server not allowing external connections or relay of mail messages from the server upon which your MIDAS system resides.
If you are unsure of correct SMTP settings to enter, or if you believe that the SMTP server you've entered may be blocking external connections/relay of mail from your MIDAS server, then you will need to contact the administrator of your SMTP server for their assistance.
