How To Message Another User
Topics covered in this tutorial: In this tutorial I'm going to show you how you can message other users. To compose a message to another user we click this icon here "My Messages", followed by this icon here. You'll then be presented with a list of users in your MIDAS system and you can select one or more of those. Let's say we'll select "John Smith". We can then compose our message here; "Hey John, Are you in work tomorrow?". We can also set an expiry date for our message so that as long as John Smith logs in before this date and time he'll see this message, otherwise it will automatically be removed. Wo we then click "Leave Message"... "Your message has been sent". Now, depending on John Smith's settings he may also receive that as an email. But let's see what he'll see when he next logs in. So we're currently logged in as "Tutorial Admin", so we shall log out and we will log in as a John Smith. And you'll see as soon as John Smith logs in, his messages pop up, and once he's read that he can and delete that message by clicking "Expire Now", or alternatively the message will automatically expire after the expiry time that we set. Click close window on that. John can also access his messages by clicking the "My Messages" icon - you'll see the little number one there to indicate that there's one notification for him. And there again is a message that we sent to him. You'll see in the settings for John Smith at the bottom, he can also have messages sent directly to his email if he's not logged in at the time, and he can also disable the display of messages each time he logs in. If he does this then his messages will only be accessible via the "My Messages" toolbar icon.
