Hello and welcome to MIDAS tutorials.

In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to make public booking requests.

Now this feature of MIDAS enables non users - for example members of the public, or visitors to your website - to be able to check room availability and submit booking requests online.

For this tutorial we're going to assume that we've already enabled public booking requests, and configured our venues accordingly.

Both these things are covered in other video tutorials.

So to access the public booking request screen we simply append "request" to the end of the URL of our MIDAS system and a screen similar to this will appear.

And you'll see the process is split into five steps.

So the first step we select our venue that we'd like to request, or we can select multiple venues.

So let's go for Room 2 and Room 5, and we click "Next".

We then select the date we like to request, or we can select multiple dates by holding down the "Ctrl" key and selecting multiple days.

We then click "Next", and you'll see MIDAS gives us an indication of the current availability of the dates and rooms we've selected.

So let's say we wish to request these rooms from nine o'clock in the morning till 10:00, and we'll do the same for Room 5 as well - 9 till 10.

We can specify the number of attendees in each of these rooms.

Let's say there's going to be 5 people in Room 2, and 10 in Room 5.

We click "Next".

MIDAS will once again then confirm the availability and depending on how public booking requests have been configured, there may be additional fields that we can fill in with further details about our request here.

Finally we need to enter our own details, so we're going to say "John Smith" is making the request and "John Smith".

If you're going to be going back to make further booking request in the future, you can click the "Remember Me" box here in the upper right corner of the "Your Details" section and these will remember your name, organization, and email address for the next time you make a booking request.

And then we simply click "Request All Available".

We then receive confirmation that our booking request has been submitted and we'll have received an email with details of the request we made.

And that's all we need to do.

The request is now in the system for an administrator to either approve or reject, and then we will receive notification of that accordingly.

How administrators process these requests is covered in a separate video tutorial.

So thanks for watching this tutorial and be sure to check out some of our other video tutorials online.
