Accessibility in MIDAS
We are committed to making our MIDAS room booking and resource scheduling software accessible to as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-off exercise, and we continue to improve it with each release of MIDAS.Standards we work to
We assess MIDAS against the following recognised accessibility standards:- The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1
- Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (Revised 2017)
- EN 301 549, the European accessibility standard
Our Accessibility Conformance Report
We publish a detailed Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) for MIDAS, produced in the industry-standard VPAT® format. It sets out, on a criterion-by-criterion basis, which requirements MIDAS supports, along with any current limitations and the improvements we are working towards. We make this report freely available, rather than only on request, so that you can assess our software's suitability for your needs before you purchase. The report is updated as the software evolves, and the link above always points to the latest version.
Accessibility features in MIDAS
MIDAS includes a number of features intended to support accessibility:- Keyboard shortcuts allow you to navigate directly to key areas of the software without tabbing through repeated navigation. These are documented at mid.as/help/keyboard-shortcuts.
- A High Contrast theme is included to improve readability for users with low vision.
- A fully responsive interface adapts to a wide range of devices, screen sizes, resolutions, and orientations, and supports text resizing without loss of content.
- Visible focus indicators, descriptive page titles, logical focus order, and clear form labelling are provided throughout.
