How to fix "No such file or directory" email errors

Your MIDAS booking system is capable of sending email via SMTP.

If you've configured your MIDAS system to send email via SMTP, yet neglected to specify an SMTP 'host", you'll likely encounter the following error when sending email:

No such file or directory

The error may also include a semi-colon followed by a number, for instance ":25". This is an indication of the port number that MIDAS attempted to establish an SMTP connection on.

To resolve this error, you'll need to enter the address of the desired SMTP server/relay you wish your MIDAS booking system to connect to in order to send email.

If using your organization's own SMTP server, the "host" address is likely to be either "mail.example.com" or "smtp.example.com" (where "example.com" is your organization's domain name).

You can add SMTP host information to your booking system when signed in, by navigating to via MIDAS Admin Options → Manage MIDAS → Email → SMTP Host.

Once added, you can use the "Test" button to verify your SMTP settings.
