How To Audit User Activity
Topics covered in this tutorial: In this tutorial I'm going to show you how you can keep track of user activity within your system. You can access the recent activity log via this toolbar icon, and you'll see there's a list of data in four columns. The first column indicates the date and time of the action. The second column will show the user's IP address. The third column shows the user, and the fourth column indicates their activity. So as you can see it's recorded when they've logged in, when they've logged out, when they've added bookings, removed bookings, and so forth. We can filter this by a specific user from the user drop-down. So if we only want to see John Smith's actions, or if we only want to see Tutorial Admins actions. And we can also filter by category as well, so if we only want to see activity relating to bookings - so we can see when bookings have been added, modified, and deleted there - or if we only want to see actions related to clients, we can see when clients have been added and modified and so forth. So this is a really good way of keeping tabs on what's going on in your MIDAS system. And it's also good from a security point of view as well, because it will also log failed login attempts, and you'll see here there's been a few login attempts that have failed for John Smith.
