Using MIDAS for Hotels, Guest Houses, and B&Bs

MIDAS is primarily a room booking and resource scheduling system, but it adapts well to overnight accommodation. Guest houses, small hotels, B&Bs, and self-catering properties often find that dedicated property management software is more than they need - complex interfaces, features they'll never use, and a price to match. MIDAS offers a simpler alternative that handles the core requirements without the overhead.

Booking by night rather than by hour

MIDAS can be configured to book by number of nights rather than specific start and end times within a day. Instead of selecting "10:00 to 11:00", guests book "3 nights from Friday". Check-in and check-out times are configured at the system level and applied to all bookings automatically.

Rooms as bookable spaces

Each room in your property is set up as a venue in MIDAS. You can add photos, set a maximum occupancy, configure the nightly rate, and add the room to a group (double rooms, family rooms, and so on) to make filtering simpler.

Maximum stay limits

If you operate minimum or maximum stay restrictions - a two-night minimum at weekends, or a 14-night maximum - these can be configured in MIDAS to prevent bookings that fall outside those limits.

Invoicing and payments

MIDAS generates invoices from bookings automatically, with your room rate applied based on the number of nights. Online payment via Stripe or PayPal can be offered to guests for deposit or full payment. Invoice reminders and overdue notifications handle the financial follow-up automatically.

Public booking requests

The public booking request feature can be embedded in your website, allowing prospective guests to check availability and submit a booking enquiry. You review and confirm from within MIDAS, and a confirmation email goes to the guest automatically.
